Giant's Foundry Guide

Here's a guide on the basics of Giant's Foundry.

This is the first of many planned minigame skills! Be sure to check out the skilling guide at ::website in game for the level requirements of each ore.

Getting Started: To start for the first time, bring a minimum of (20) green Verdite ore.

Getting There

To get there, type ::gf in-game. This will teleport you to the Giant's Foundry Portal shown here:

Enabling the RuneLite Plugin

Once you go in, you will first notice in the chat it tells you to turn on the RuneLite plugin to help. THIS IS VERY HELPFUL!

How to Enable the Plugin

For those that don't know how to do this:

Locate the wrench icon (Configuration) next to the X on your client in the top right of the screen
This will bring up a search bar
Type "Giant" and you will see Giants' Foundry as the first toggle option

Important: Turn this plugin OFF then ON only when you are inside the room with the Giant! You will see all the machines and steps of this minigame highlight. Once everything highlights, you can click the wrench option again to close the search.

Step 1: Get a Commission

Now you are ready to start! Talk to Kovak the Giant and get a "commission" from him.

Step 2: Set Up the Mould

Go to the Setup Mould which is right next to the Giant. A window will pop up and on the left you will see 3 sections:

Forte
Blades
Tips

You will need to select a choice for each one (doesn't really matter which). Once you have chosen one for EACH of the Forte, Blades, and Tips, hit SET MOULD in the top right.

Step 3: Add Ores & Pour

Get your ores (if you don't have them in your inventory) from the chest up the little stairs. Add 20-500 ores into the crucible, then click "Pour metal into mold".

Step 4: Work the Machines

Click on the setup mould jig (first step) and if you have the plugin enabled you will see all the stats on the left:

Plugin Info	Description
Heat	Current temperature of your weapon
Stage	What stage of forging you are on
Actions Left	How many actions remain
Next Action	Tells you what to do next (e.g. "use waterfall")

How the Plugin Helps: The info window will tell you the action needed next (e.g. "use waterfall") and it will highlight the machine or location in a different color. Once you perform the action to the right temperature or stage, the colors will switch and direct you to the next action - also highlighted in the same color as the action mentioned in the plugin window.

Sweet Spot Bonus

Keep an eye on the chat box for "SWEET SPOT" messages! Clicking at the right time will give you a bonus!

Be Careful!

Follow the plugin directions to complete your commission weapon, but be careful and keep an eye on the temps and what action you are on. If you click the wrong machine, it will slightly degrade the quality of the weapon (which means fewer bars as your reward in the end).

Completing Your Weapon

Once the plugin task bar shows 100% and the chat box says "turn it in", you are DONE! Turn in your completed weapon to Kovak the Giant for your bar rewards.

Returning After Teleporting

If for any reason you teleport away from this area during the minigame process, you will get a message upon returning that says:

"You have a preform stored! Grab it from your storage to continue" - This storage is located straight North in the Giant's Foundry. Click on it to get your preform and continue the process.

Click the storage to retrieve your preform and continue

Note: You may need to re-enable the plugin (toggle OFF then ON) when returning to the foundry room.

Speed Run / Quick Finish Option

If this minigame isn't your style and you don't mind taking a loss on some bars, here's a shortcut:

Quick Finish Method

Once you get to the first machine (Waterfall, Grindstone, Lava, etc.), you can simply spam click the machine until quality reduces to 0. Then turn in your failed weapon to the Giant and still receive a decent pile of bars - the choice is up to you!
