Play Divine X
Download the launcher, sign in, and you are in. The launcher keeps your client patched
automatically — you download it once and never again.
We are live — download below

Pick your operating system above. You will need Java 11 or newer first — see the Java section below.
2
Run it
The launcher downloads the client and keeps it patched. Every update after this is automatic.

Create one in the client, or register on the site first — the same login works for both.

Do not use java.com. It gives you Java 8, which will not run this client.
You need Java 11 or newer. The links below are Adoptium Temurin — the free
OpenJDK build, no account and no licence nag.
Install this before running the
launcher — on every platform.
Nothing happens when I run the launcher
Almost always Java. Open a terminal (Windows: press Start, type cmd) and run
java -version. If it says not recognised, or reports version 1.8 / 8,
you need Java 11 or newer - see the Java section below, and install it before running the
launcher again.
Windows says "Windows protected your PC" or blocks the download
SmartScreen flags any installer that is not code-signed, and code signing certificates cost
hundreds a year. Click More info then Run anyway. If your
browser blocked the download itself, open Downloads and choose Keep. If you would
rather not, use the .jar instead with Java 11 installed.
My antivirus deleted the launcher
Some antivirus products flag any Java launcher that downloads files - it is a false positive.
Add the DivineX folder to your exclusions and download again. If you are not comfortable
doing that, use the .jar, which is far less often flagged.
Mac says the app is damaged or from an unidentified developer
Gatekeeper. Right-click the file and pick Open (not double-click), then
confirm. If it still refuses, open System Settings → Privacy & Security,
scroll down and press Open Anyway. You only do this once.
How do I check what Java I have?
Run java -version in a terminal. You want 11 or higher.
Java 8 (shown as "1.8") will not work. If several versions are installed, the launcher uses
whichever is first on your PATH.
The client opens then closes straight away
Usually a corrupted cache from an interrupted download. Delete the
.divinex folder in your home directory (Windows:
C:\Users\YourName\.divinex, Mac/Linux: ~/.divinex) and run the
launcher again - it will re-download what it needs.
I get a black screen or the world will not load
Let it sit for thirty seconds on a first launch while the cache unpacks. If it stays black,
delete the .divinex folder as above. If it persists, update your graphics
drivers - this one is nearly always a GPU driver on older machines.
Connection refused / cannot connect to the server
Check
the homepage - if the player counter is showing, the server is up
and the problem is your end. Try turning off a VPN, and allow Java through your firewall.
If the server is genuinely down we will say so in Discord.
It says my client is out of date
Close it completely and reopen the launcher - it patches on start. If it keeps saying it,
delete .divinex/cache and let it redownload.
Can I play on a Chromebook, phone or tablet?
Not yet. The client needs a desktop Java runtime. A mobile client is in development -
watch the Discord for news.
I forgot my password
Your website account and your game account are the same. Reset it on
the login page, and the new password works in-game immediately.
